Julie Lee and Her White Rose Band
Julie Lee is the founder of the “White Rose Band.” She is the lead vocalist for the band, and also plays alto and tenor sax, clarinet, and rhythm guitar for the band.
Julie grew up on a farmstead between Hillsboro, ND and Halstad MN, and was the third oldest in a family of nine children.
Her parents instilled the love of music in them, and today she can proudly say she’s doing what she loves for her life’s work. Starting with piano lessons, playing clarinet in concert band in school, then alto sax in stage band, her musical life started at a very young age.
Julie Lee and Her White Rose Band is based out of Fargo ND. The band plays a wide variety of venues throughout the country. In the summertime, they travel throughout the Midwest, working at many different places. Their music features many different styles of music, which can vary from country music to ‘40s and ‘50s, to old-time waltz and polka music. The band members work jobs as a duo all the way up to a five-piece group, as needed.
Their music has taken them to all corners of this great country, playing on cruise ships in Alaska and the Caribbean, to dances from North Dakota to Texas. Some of the venues they work at include festivals, dinner shows, fairs, private parties, pool parties, club dances, polka Masses, Christmas parties and shows, casinos, cruise ships, and church festivals.
From November through April you will find the band in Mesa, AZ, where they entertain for the snowbirds that flock to Arizona to get some sunshine all winter long. The band loves calling Mesa their second home. They also travel up to Las Vegas, NV each February to host the Southwest Polka Party at the Orleans Casino & Hotel.
