Polka at the airport
You say “flight delay;” in Canada they say, “let’s party!”
Within the next day or so, millions of Americans will head to the airport. They’ll be in foul moods, anticipating flight delays, shoving against the humanity that dares get on board the plane 20 seconds before they do.
One piece of advice: Be more more like Canada, America. Also: bring an accordion.
It happened in Toronto Nov. 21, when travelers to St. John’s, Newfoundland found out their flight would be delayed at least 30 minutes.
Thirty minutes? Why, that’s barely enough time to squeeze four songs in.
So, Sheldon Thornhill thought it would be a good time to break out his accordion, and fellow musician Sean Sullivan opened his guitar case to join him, the CBC says.
There was dancing. When’s the last time you danced at an airport gate?
It was almost a disappointment when the plane was ready for boarding.
